Description

  • 500GB External Hard Drive is WD Elements™ portable hard drives with USB 3.0 offer reliable, high-capacity storage to go, fast data transfer rates, universal connectivity and massive capacity for value-conscious consumers.

Over the years the amount of information stored has grown from megabytes all the way to geopbytes, confirming the need to successfully store and access huge amounts of data. As demand for storage technology grows the need for greater efficiency and more advanced capabilities continues to evolve.

Today data storage is more than just archiving; it’s about providing ways to analyse information, understand patterns and behaviour, to re-live experiences and memories. It’s about harnessing stored information for growth and innovation. Western Digital is building on its heritage of storage leadership to solve the challenge of getting more out of the living information that’s produced everyday. What began with one storage innovation has morphed into many systems and solutions becoming faster, more reliable and expansive. No longer is it just about storing information; it is about accessing and interpreting information quickly, accurately and securely.

The small, lightweight design offers up to 4TB capacity, making WD Elements portable hard drives the ideal companion for consumers on the go. We know your data is important to you. So we build the drive inside to our demanding requirements for durability, shock tolerance, and long-term reliability. Then we protect the drive with a durable enclosure designed for style and protection.

500gb-external-hard-drive-stariz-pkAbout Western Digital:

500GB External Hard Drive of Western Digital Technology (then called Shugart Technology) was incorporated on November 1, 1978, and commenced operations with co-founders Al Shugart, Tom Mitchell, Doug Mahon, Finis Conner and Syed Iftikar in October 1979. The company came into being when Conner approached Shugart with the idea of starting a new company to develop 5.25-inch HDDs which Conner predicted would be a coming economic boom in the disk drive market. The name was changed to Western Digital Technology to avoid a lawsuit from Xerox’s subsidiary Shugart Associates (also founded by Shugart).
